In our April meeting we will be discussing and voting on proposed changes to the cannon property. Then township is asking for a letter from the civic league asking for and accepting the changes. Open for discussion will be any modifications agreed by the membership. A final vote will be made by the membership on our proposal or the townships proposal unchanged. The link below is a sketch of the townships changes and all notes from the township giving more details on their proposal. These notes are posted just as received from the township.

Township Notes:

If the Civic League were to provide a letter of support within the April/May timeframe, that would be very helpful.  My recollection is that Barb Wilson always approached the township as an individual resident, not as any kind of representative of the Camp Dennison Civic League.

 The basic issue is:

1) The cannon area is an important "gateway" to Camp Dennison

2) The cannon area could use some sprucing up

3) The township is interested in coordinating and funding the sprucing up, but first must gain control of the property

4) Per your description, below, to Mike, the township has initiated the process to gain control of the property

5) Once the property ownership is obtained, the township will work with the County Engineer to potentially realign the Kugler Mill Road intersection with SR-126 so that this intersection is perpendicular (and also deleting the angled secondary road between Kugler Mill Road and SR-126.

6) We welcome input to the landscape plan from the Civic League (it is not set in stone).

 Thanks,

-Phil
